5 Ways: Yellow Neon Crystal Necklace

I think splashes of neon can be so pretty in an outfit, especially when paired with lots of colour. I discovered this great statement necklace during the week at Baublebar and thought I’d do a 5 Ways with it as it was something a bit different. I started off with a few casual looks and ended with a couple of dressier/party looks. Hope you like them :)

Which look is your favourite? Are you still loving neon this season?

Happy 1st Birthday Bit Square

It’s March 16th and it’s a year ago since I wrote my first post here! So today I thought I’d share some of my favourite posts from the past 12 months as a way to celebrate the year it’s been.

My Favourite DIY:
This is such a simple DIY but I remember it as being one of the most enjoyable to put together.

My Favourite Refashion:
I was just so happy with how these shoe clips turned out – they were so much prettier than I had originally  expected.
My Favourite Series:
I love doing these Ways to Wear posts. It’s so fun to play around with different items and styles.
The Most Pinned:
I’m not sure if this is the most pinned (as I’m not sure exactly sure how to tell) but this is by far the most viewed from Pinterest.
The Most Viewed:
Somehow this post got picked up by Buzzfeed in 27 life hacks every girl needed to know. I was so excited, I have no idea how they found me as it was early on when writing the blog and had hardly any traffic.
I hope you enjoyed looking over some of Bit Square’s first year. I absolutely love writing this blog and have loved connecting, sharing and meeting all of you.  Thank you so very much for a wonderful year :)

5 Looks with a Red Tassel Necklace

I did a bit a shopping this week and noticed that Katies had some new Jewellery in – only a few pieces, but there were a couple of definite standouts. This red tassel necklace was one of them (they also have it in a cobalt blue which is equally as gorgeous). A pure red necklace is something that I don’t actually own and, of course, something that I would really love to have. The only thing that stopped me from buying this one yesterday was that I was worried it would be a little too long for me. I generally prefer shorter necklaces and I wasn’t exactly sure how I would go about altering this one. Anyway, I thought I’d have a go styling it while I thought about it.
I think it’s really pretty though. I love it especially with the pink and orange in the party/date looks. I actually think it might work fairly well doubled over too.

I’ve tried finding a nice red necklace that’s internationally available with little luck yet. If your interested in one you can always try  Shop StyleThe Find,or Amazon

Ways to Wear: 5 Party Looks with Blue Shoes

I love brightly coloured anything so it’s no surprise that I love brightly coloured shoes too. I came across these gorgeous cobalt blue ones from ASOS during the week and as I currently don’t have anything quite like it, I thought I’d have a go at styling them.

I found that, because the shoes were such a bold colour, it was best to keep the rest of the outfits pretty simple. I think they look particularly great with the skinny jeans – looks 2 and 5 are probably my favourite overall – I love them with the lighter blues and purple too though. What do you think?

What do you think of the looks? How would you style a blue pair of pumps?

A Year With: Jacqui-E Sapphire Check Skirt

Here’s another something from Jacqui-E for this weeks Way to Wear. I am a HUGE Jacqui-E fan. I actually avoid going into this shop sometimes as there is always way too much there that I’d want to buy!

Anyway, I had a good look around the online store earlier in the week and this is one skirt I thought was really pretty.  I haven’t seen this in real life yet but I hoping it’s as lovely as it looks here. So before I buy it (or at least try it on) I thought I’d see how it would style. As structured skirts like this are great to wear all year round – I thought I’d do exactly that with it here.

I had a lot of fun styling this and really like how it’s looking. Hmm….I think the summer looks are my favourite though. They actually also have this pattern in a dress too but I think I like the skirt better.

What do you think? Do you like this skirt? Which is your favourite look?

I found something sort of similar for everyone else from Topshop. I think this would style similarly to the Jacqui-E skirt. I absolutely love how they’ve styled it here too.

Latest Purchases: Some Neutral Statement Necklaces

I’ve been on the lookout for a great white and silver statement necklace for the last year or so, and I’ve been looking especially hard over the summer too. As it happened I ended up coming across all four of these over the after Christmas sales!! I was particularly thrilled about finding these two pearl ones as they are both super fun as well as being rather dressy. The pearls on the black ribbon I picked up for $3!!!
As I can’t find any of these online I took pics myself. They should all be still in stores though. :)
1. This necklace was a gift but I know it’s from Myers as I helped choose it – it’s by Basque. The silver beads are so lovely and shiny and it makes such a great statement piece. It’s bigger than it looks here and is quite heavy too, although I hardly notice it when it’s on.
2. This necklace was from Diva at Melbourne Central. I’ve actually looked for it in a couple of other stores and they didn’t have it – it’s not online either. So if you’re in Melbourne, there were quite a few there. I imagine it’s new stock so hopefully it will be around if you like it. I absolutely LOVE this necklace. The pearls are a really nice white and it has glittery rhinestone beads too.

3. My $3 pearl necklace was from Target. It was in the sale racks but there were a few of them left when I bought it. It’s really pretty. It has large bobbly pearls alternating with rhinestones and black beads. I love the black satin ribbon too.
4. This was another necklace from Diva. They have it in both gold or silver findings (and I think there were some different colours too). It’s a great simple white statement necklace that is going to go with everything (it is especially pretty against solid black though). If you look below you will see my little refashion.
The necklace actually came with two strands. It sat a bit funny on me so I clipped one of them off with my jewellery pliers. I’m not sure what do do with the other strand yet. It may become a bracelet, or another necklace. :)
So if you are in Australia and looking for a neutral statement necklace I hope this might be of help. Oh and Lovisa have a few lovely white and gold ones at the moment too and there is a pretty white beaded  tassel one still at Myers (not online either I’m sorry).
I haven’t come across that many on the International sites lately to recommend unfortunately. Shop Style or The Find are great places to search for them if your interested.
I think I might do a 5 ways with a white necklace in the next few days too.
What’s your favourite style/colour of neutral necklace?
PS: The big white daisy clip in the top photo is from Lovisa. They have lots of fun daisies at the moment!
