About Amelia Madeleine

Hi. I’m Amelia, a waitress and art school grad from Australia. I’m a lover of fashion, food and all things DIY. I’ve decided to begin a blog in order to share some of my ideas, doings and wearings.

Lime-Balm-Plant---Bit-Square-BlogA Lime Balm plant I got from Kmart! I never knew there was such a thing. Can’t wait to try this as a tea later in the season (imagine it’s good with fruit salad too).

I’ve been spending quite a bit of time in the garden lately (as I’m sure you can tell from all these pics here and from earlier this week too!). I’ve definitely been enjoying the warmer weather lately and loving seeing so much colour about again. Hope you have a great weekend!

Spring To-Do List

Spring-Daisies SImple Floral ArrangmentFloating spring daisies after this week’s  iPhone wallpaper shoot.

Even though it’s a few weeks into spring already, I thought I put together a list of somethings I really wanted to make sure I did during the season. I find it’s so easy for the seasons to slip by me without feeling like I really get to appreciate and celebrate what they have to offer.

  • Learn to make paper flowers (I really want to do this online course).
  • Make my first ever spring garland from something bright and colourful (perhaps from my paper flowers).
  • Fresh asparagus from the garden with homemade hollandaise.
  • Decorate a pumpkin for Halloween.
  • Create a little fern garden for my desk (inspired by this book here).
  • Make or buy a pair of simple, bright apple-green earrings.
  • Buy peony roses from the local market.
  • Find a pretty, light, floral cardigan.
  • Start making some things from my Frozen Sweets pinterest board. Also look for ideas to add to my Spring board.
  • Organise my photos from the past year and print out a few to put into albums.

What do you have planned for this Spring (or Autumn if your in Northern Hemisphere)?

The daisies are so pretty in our garden at the moment and with the starting of spring, I thought I’d create a new phone desktop for myself to celebrate. I know a lot of you are heading into Autumn now but I thought you might like to be brought a bit of spring cheer anyway.

I saved the file in 4 sizes – for iPhone 4, 5, and both 6s but they would be easy to resize for any other phone.

To install onto iPhone: Open this page on your phone and click on the size you ‘d like. Hold down on the image and click ‘Save Image’. Open your photo library, click on the share option and select use image as wallpaper – then set as lock screen. Another way to do this is to  save the image to your computer then email it to yourself or use something like dropbox to get it onto your phone too.

Moving Site Issues

Hi all – I’ve managed to move my site across but I’ve just noticed that a few of the permalinks have changed which means several of my internal and external links have broken. So sorry if your having trouble trying to find a particular post. There should only be a few to change but I’m doing it manually so it might take me a bit of time. The search function on this site works really well so I’d recommend trying that if you’re really trying to find something.

If anyone knows of an easier way of doing this let me know.

Until soon,

Amelia

***UPDATE***

Ok I think they are all fixed now. I’ll double check a few again tomorrow but if you notice anything not working properly just let me know via the comments or my contact page.

PS: My Food and Beauty galleries are all done if you want to take a look. The DIY one is hopefully coming in the next few days :)

***SECOND UPDATE***

My DIY Gallery is done too now so make sure you check it out. I double checked all the problem links again today and they all worked fine. I’m still working on a few things but the majority is done now so take a good look around. I’ll see you soon :)

Site Under Construction

online-blogging-resources-2Hi everyone, just to let you know that I’m currently working on improving my site over the next week or so things may not work as expected (I’m not very technologically literate so really anything could happen!). I’m moving servers and switching to WordPress as well as changing themes and installing a (so far really great looking) project gallery.

I’m super excited about these changes as I think they are should greatly improve the site’s navigation and layout. Hopefully everything will turn out ok and I’ll see you again soon :)

Shopping – Red and Black Accessories

A few shopping finds that I’ve loved this week. I would say the tartan shoes are my favourite but the polka dot clutch and heart gloves come in at very close second. I don’t mean to do these in particular colours but it’s funny how frequently this happens!

Please note that these are all independently chosen by me and that some them are affiliated which means I may earn a few cents for your clicks. You can learn more about my affiliate program and how I select these at my disclosure page :)
